Sorry, it’s impossible for Alan Evans Bridal to publish a catalog. This is because our styles are the latest fashions and the wedding gowns we have available change daily. Other bridal stores carry the same styles for years so it’s easy for them to publish a catalog.
Are your wedding gowns available to buy off the rack or do I need to special order it?
All of our wedding gowns, mothers dresses, flowers girls and some of our bridesmaids are available for purchase immediately. All are available for special orders if you would like a different size or color.
What price points can I expect to find at your store?
Our wedding gowns can range in price between $200 and $3000. It really depends on the brand and style of the gowns. We carry everything from flowing informals, gorgeous couture gowns and our own custom designed line. Bridesmaids are available for the budget minded to dresses suitable for a cocktail party. We carry a large selection of special occasion and mother of the brides dresses in stock and available for special order.
What sizes do you carry in stock?
In wedding gowns we carry sizes 4 to 28 in stock for you to try. Bridesmaids average sizes are 8 to 14. We also carry popular bridesmaids styles in several sizes up to 24.
Should I bring pictures of dresses I like?
Please bring in your dream dress ideas. Once you try on dresses you will get a clearer idea of what style looks best on you. Sometimes the dress you thought you would not like is the dress that makes you feel amazing! Trust your consultant to help you find your perfect style!
Will I be able to see gowns at Alan Evans Bridal that are different from what I’ve seen everywhere else?
We are proud to carry our own line of bridal gowns designed by our resident designer Rand. We also carry several other private lines and designer lines not available in the region. We carry at least 15 different bridesmaids lines.
Should I make an appointment to come and try on dresses?
Yes, please call or email for a appointment. We do take walk ins but appointments will take priority. Saturdays can be especially busy so please make an appointment for that day of the week. (218) 236-8543 for an appointment.
Do I need an appointment to try accessories?
You do not need one but on busy days like Saturday it might be a good idea to get the attention you need and to work with your sales associate.
What can I expect when I come?
Please schedule about two hours for your appointment. A consultant will be there to help you chose your dresses and to try them on. Don't be afraid to bring in your dream dress ideas. Once you try on dresses you will get a clearer idea of what style looks best on you. Sometimes the dress you thought you would not like is the dress that makes you feel amazing! Trust your consultant to help you find your perfect style!
What should I bring?
Bring any garments you wish to try on under your gown. If you have any family jewelry or accessories feel free to bring them as well.
Who should I bring with?
While everyone will want to come with you on your appointment we ask that you restrict your number of guests. Our rooms only have a limited number seating for onlookers. Bring people whose opinions you trust the most. Sometimes too many opinions will confuse you and possibly hurt your feelings. Remember people often want you to wear what they want, not what you want. The ultimate decision is yours alone.
Should I get a sitter for kids?
We advise you not bring children to a bridal store. Your wedding gown choice is one of the most important you will make for your wedding. When shopping for that gown you need to be able to focus and concentrate without distractions. A bridal salon is not a fun or safe place for kids and they will get bored very quickly and distract you from this important mission. Bored and unhappy children also distract from our other brides appointments.
Can I complete my entire look in one appointment?
Absolutely! Not only do many brides find their dress on their first visit to our salon, but they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces, shoes, jewelry etc) on their first visit.
What can I find in your store?
We carry wedding gowns, bridesmaids gowns, mothers and social occasion gowns, flower girls dresses, headpieces, veils, jewelry, shoes, crinolines and prom dresses.
May I take pictures of the gowns while I try them on?
We do not allow cameras in the fitting rooms while you are shopping. Once you have purchased a dress, you may take as many pictures as you’d like.
Do you offer any discounts or incentives?
If you purchase your bridal gown at Alan Evans we do offer special discounts off of your bridal gown, headpiece and veil. We also offer discounts off of bridesmaids, mothers, and flower girl dresses, shoes, jewelry, accessories, slips, and undergarments.
When should I order my veil and/or headpiece?
Special-order designer veils have up to a 3-4 months lead-time, so making a decision at the time you order your gown is helpful.
What if I find the gown in stock I want but I am not ready to buy it. Can you hold it for me?
Sorry, we can’t. The disadvantage is that if you find the gown of your dreams and don’t purchase it that day there is a good chance it won’t be here when you come back. That is why we suggest that before you set an appointment you ask yourself, “If I found the wedding gown of my dreams in my budget can I buy it today?” Its best to be ready by bringing your mom or whoever you want with you so. If you’re that lucky to find the perfect dress you won’t have to leave it behind. We do have a lay-a-way plan (50% down, balance in 90 days). Major credit cards are accepted.
What is a special-order gown?
While a lot of the gowns we sell are off the rack. A special-order gown is made specifically for you by a designer based on their size chart. Alterations will then fit it to perfection for your body.
How far in advance do I need to order my gown?
It's best to allow 6-9 months before your wedding to order a gown.
How do I pay for my gown?
We accept Discover, MasterCard, and Visa, as well as cash and personal checks. (Personal checks are only accepted for deposit, not final payment). If you are ordering a special-order gown, we require a 50% deposit at the time you order your gown. You have 30 days after the dress comes into finish paying your balance. Dresses must be paid in full before alterations start.
If you are buying a sample gown off our rack, we require 50% payment and require the remaining balance to be paid within 90 days.
Can I get a swatch of the color of my gown?
We may have something close to the color but dye lots vary and if you need the actual color of your gown you will have to wait for it to arrive and take a small snip of your dress. You can get swatches of your bridesmaids dresses when you order your dresses. Keep in mind dye lots vary.
When should I expect to receive my gown?
Typical shipping time is 4 to 9 months depending on the factory. Sometimes unavoidable delays happen that we have no control over.
Do you carry bridesmaids dresses?
Yes we do. We have the best styles of the major lines for you to choose from and many more we can order.
Do I need an appointment?
We do have a fully staffed Bridesmaids department and it is wise to make an appointment in advance as the department can get busy and confusing.
Can I get the color I want?
Most dresses come in a multitude of colors but it all depends on the company and fabric. Remember color names may be similar but the actual color varies for company to company. Also realize the color you see on your computer monitor may not be the same color in person.

Impression Bridesmaids offer beautiful affordable dresses for everyone. Their site offers a style guide to assist you. Multiple colors and fabrics in sizes 2 to 30. Some junior maids dresses are available in complimentary styles.
Davinci Bridesmaids
Davinci Bridesmaids are offered in budget priced and affordable popular styles and colors. Sizes 2 to 30W with some Junior maids dresses available in complimentary styles.
Jim Hjelm Occasions Bridesmaids
Jim Hjelm features stylish bridesmaids dresses with superior workmanship, and gorgeous fabrics with fashion-forward colors and expert construction and fit. They have great new colors and styles every season in sizes 2 to 28 with some junior and maternity styles available.
Alvina Valenta
Designer dresses for the discriminating bride. These gowns are in scrumptious fabrics and styles suitable for the wedding and then to a cocktail affair. Elegant and sophisticated they are available in sizes 2 to 28 with some complimentary junior bridesmaids and flowergirl dresses.
Belsoie and B2
Belsoie and B2 are twin lines with Belsoie being the slightly more expensive of the two yet still affordable. Rich fabrics and flowing lines are signature to these collections. These are high quality gowns with many matching juniors dresses and some have matching maternity styles. They offer sizes 4 to 28 with custom sizes available for hard to fit bridesmaids.
Jordan
Jordan offers variety of classic and contemporary styles in over 70 colors. Jordan offers its bridesmaids collections in sizes 0 to 34 and accommodates Junior's in sizes 4 to 16. Juniors dresses match every dress.
Bill Levkoff
Bill Levkoff dresses range from the traditional to the contemporary and are available in an array of beautiful colors and fabrics. The Bill Levkoff Collection offers clean lines and gorgeous fabrics for the modern bride. The Classics Collection, you'll find timeless silhouettes that are affordable without sacrificing quality. Available in sizes 0 to 28 with some matching juniors.
Love
Love bridesmaids dresses are superior quality high fashion dresses with built in bras. Wonderful fabrics and trims compliment these red carpet worthy dresses. A favorite of Hollywood celebrities, these are dresses that the bridesmaids will want to wear again and again! Higher priced but still affordable these gowns are available in sizes 0 to 32.
How do my bridesmaids order their dresses?
They can come in and we will measure and help them decide what their closest size is. Deposits need to be paid before we can place their order.
My bridesmaids are scattered around the country. How can they order their dresses?
Your bridesmaids can call us with their measurements and we will review the size chart with them and help them pick the closest size. They can pay with a credit card over the phone or mail a check. We advise everyone ordering their dresses from the same place to make sure the dye lots match since all the dresses will be made at the same time.
Can I order extra fabric?
Fabric can be ordered from certain manufacturers. Your Bridal Consultant will be able to check the availability at the time your order your gown. Keep in mind dye lots may vary, therefore it is not always recommended.
How soon can I get my bridesmaids dresses?
The answer will vary with specific companies but many can take up to 4 months to come in to us. We would like to see you order them at least 6 months in advance of the wedding to give them extra time for alterations, etc.
I don’t have that much time before my wedding can I get bridesmaids dresses in a hurry?
Some companies stock certain styles and colors for quick delivery. Contact the Bridesmaids department for help with your specialized needs.
Do you price match?
Not really. Our prices are competitive and our service is excellent. If you are comparing to online prices or other stores, please compare the service you got. Did they have the dress for you to try on? Show you a color chart in person? Charge you extra shipping or handling? Charge sales tax? Will they care if you have a problem? Is it worth the hassle just to save a few dollars?
Do you offer alterations?
We have an agreement with a bridal alterations expert who will come here to meet with you for your scheduled alterations appointment. She owns her own business and will take care of your alterations needs for all gowns bought here. She only services gowns purchased at Alan Evans Bridal.
When shall I schedule my first fitting?
We’ll contact you when your dress is in. Call for an appointment about 8 weeks before your wedding day.
What should I bring to my first fitting?
You should bring the shoes and undergarments you’ll wear on your wedding day in order to have your gown properly fit through the bodice and hemline.
How many fittings will I need?
Usually, brides require 2-3 fittings to ensure a perfect look. After the final fitting you can arrange for pressing before your wedding.
What is a bustle?
Many bridal gowns have trains that are not detachable. The bride's seamstress adds what is called a bustle when doing the alterations, which simply means attaching the train to the back of the dress so the bride may move freely at the reception.
I saw a picture of my dress on an online website and it was half the price of the dress in your store. Why can they sell it so cheap?
Because it is not the same dress or manufacturer. China does not have copyright laws and will steal images from other companies to use as their own. They will then create a cheapest possible knock-off from the image. The style, fit, construction, fabric and color will not be the same as what you tried on in the store.
We have seen several of these disasters, especially the wedding gowns, that the bride cried, lost her money, learned her lesson and then had to go out and buy another gown for her wedding. Can you fit one of our wedding gowns in a gallon size zip lock bag? They do.
